This page says what happens to your email address when you unlock a guide. It is short, because this site does not do much.

What we collect

When you unlock a guide we ask you for one thing: your email address. Along with it we save two things we already know.

• Your email address.
• Which guide you opened.
• Which language you read it in — English or Spanish.

That is the whole list. We do not ask for your name, your age, where you live, or anything about your health.

Why we ask for it

We send you a link back to the guide you opened, so you can find it again.

We may also email you when we publish a new guide. That is the trade: you give us an email address, we send you the guide and tell you when there is another one.

Who else sees it

We use a company called Resend to hold the list and send the email. Your address, the guide name and the language sit on their servers in the United States.

The site itself is hosted by Vercel, also in the United States.

That is everyone. We do not sell your email address, we do not rent it, and we do not hand it to anyone else.

Your IP address

When you send the form, our server sees your IP address for a moment. We use it to stop one person sending the form a hundred times in a row. We do not keep the address itself: we scramble it into a short code that cannot be turned back into an address, count recent attempts against that code, and throw the code away within the hour.

Cookies and tracking

We do not use tracking cookies. There is no Google Analytics on this site and no advertising pixel.

We do count a few things so we know whether the guides are any good: how many times a guide was opened, how far down the page people got, how many left an email, and how many tapped a link to the shop. Those are plain numbers. We do not store your IP address, and there is nothing in them that points back to you.

When you unlock a guide, your browser saves one small note on your own device so we do not ask you for your email again. That note stays on your device. Clear your browser data to remove it, or use the “Lock again” link at the foot of a guide.

How to stop the emails

Email us at support@ascendvials.com and say you want out. We take your address off the list. If an email we sent you has an unsubscribe link, that works too.

How to be deleted

Email support@ascendvials.com from the address you signed up with, or tell us which address to look for. We delete it from our list and ask Resend to delete their copy.

You can also ask us what we hold on you, and we will tell you.

Where we are

This site is run from the United States, and your email address is stored in the United States. If you are reading this from another country, that is where it ends up.

Children

This site is not meant for children. Do not give us an email address if you are under 18.

Changes to this page

If we change what we do, we change this page and we change the date at the top.
